Features and technical support of inkjet printing

At present, inkjet printers can be divided into two types: piezoelectric inkjet technology and thermal inkjet technology according to the working mode of the print head. According to the material properties of inkjet, it can be divided into water materials, solid inks and liquid inks and other types of printers. Let’s elaborate on each of them below.
Piezoelectric inkjet technology is to place many small piezoelectric ceramics near the printhead nozzle of the inkjet printer, and use the principle that it will deform under the action of voltage, and add voltage to it in a timely manner. The piezoelectric ceramic then expands and contracts to eject the ink from the nozzle and form a pattern on the surface of the output medium.
The cost of inkjet printhead made by piezoelectric inkjet technology is relatively high, so in order to reduce the user’s use cost, the printhead and ink cartridge are generally made into a separate structure, and the printhead does not need to be replaced when the ink is replaced. This technology is original by Epson, because the structure of the print head is more reasonable, and the size and use of ink droplets can be effectively adjusted by controlling the voltage, so as to obtain high printing accuracy and printing effect. It has strong control over ink drops, making it easy to print with high precision, and now the ultra-high resolution of 1440dpi is maintained by Epson. Of course, it also has disadvantages, assuming that the printhead is blocked during use, whether it is dredged or replaced, the cost is relatively high and it is not easy to operate, and the whole printer may be scrapped.

At present, the products using piezoelectric inkjet technology are mainly Epson inkjet printers.
Thermal inkjet technology is to let the ink pass through the fine nozzle, under the action of a strong electric field, a part of the ink in the nozzle pipe is vaporized to form a bubble, and the ink at the nozzle is ejected and sprayed onto the surface of the output medium to form a pattern or character. Therefore, this inkjet printer is sometimes called a bubble printer. The process of the nozzle made with this technology is relatively mature and the cost is very low, but because the electrodes in the nozzle are always affected by electrolysis and corrosion, it will have a lot of impact on the service life. Therefore, the printhead with this technology is usually made together with the ink cartridge, and the print head is updated at the same time when the ink cartridge is replaced. In this way, users don’t have to worry too much about the problem of clogged printheads. At the same time, in order to reduce the cost of use, we often see the injection of ink cartridges (ink filling). After the print head has just finished the ink, immediately fill the special ink, as long as the method is appropriate, you can save a lot of consumables costs.
The disadvantage of thermal inkjet technology is that the ink will be heated in the process of use, and the ink is easy to undergo chemical changes at high temperatures, and the nature is unstable, so the color authenticity will be affected to a certain extent; on the other hand, because the ink is sprayed through bubbles, the directionality and volume of the ink particles are very difficult to grasp, and the edges of the printing lines are easy to be uneven, which affects the printing quality to a certain extent, so the printing effect of most products is not as good as piezoelectric technology products.
